What is the difference between flame retardants and fireproofing?

Flame retardants lower the flame spread and smoke development of materials. Fire Proofing blocks heat from passing through say, a wall or ceiling, for a given amount of time usually rated in the hours. A 1 hour fire rating will not allow high temperatures of heat to pass through for 1 hour. 2 hour rating it will take 2 hours and so on.

Can a flame retardant reach a 1 hour / 2 hour fire rating?

A flame retardant cannot reach a 1 / 2 hour fire rating because it is designed only to prevent ignition on a material not to block heat from reaching the material.

Are our flame retardants toxic, hazardous, or restricted?

Our products are non-hazardous and non-toxic and no known restriction are placed on the raw materials we use. We do not use banned flame retardants such as PBDE's.

What methods can I apply the products? Do I need a special machine?

It is recommended that you apply the products via spraying and then back brushing with a paint brush. You can use a simple garden type sprayer or an aired or airless paint sprayer.

Can our Products be shipped?

Yes. Our products world, and in the USA are liquid and can be impact containers and are shipped everyday all over the using the common carrier UPS. They heavy but are protected in high shipping materials.

What quantities can they be shipped in?

1 Gal. Jugs, 5 Gal. Pails, 55 Gal. Drums, and 220 Gal. Totes

Can I return a product for refund?

A product can be returned within 30 days if unopened. With a 15% restock fee. Customer must pay for shipping.

Are our products approved for use in California?

Yes, they are used throughout California and the US. And certification can be issued. Visit our western division website from the Contact Us page.

Can I receive a certificate of flame resistance?

Yes. Certificates can be obtained by simply filling out the application form that comes in every package.

How long does it take to receive my certificate?

It can take up to 3 days. But you can pay $25 to receive an expedited certificate in 1 business day.

What is a good product for wildfire protection?

Use Tree and Grass TG-300 for wildfire protection. It can be sprayed around a structure on the dry grass, brush, and tress to form a flame resistant barrier.

Are our products approved for use on a Chapter 7A Wildland Urban Interface code enforced structure?

Only building materials such as Lumber are approved to be used on Chapter 7A code. The lumber or building material much must be made flame-resistant at time of manufacture and cannot be made flame resistant after material has been installed. Check with fire marshall on obtaining a Building materials list.
